Default Valve Block Rebuild

Well I'm in Maryland and the tempetaure last night was 15 degrees and the truck is resting on its rear bump stops. Nothing is unusally for this random site but after several minutes the truck was not able to inflate the rear. I was thinking about buying a new valve block but rebuilding the valve is a cheaper alternative. I have seen o ring kits with diaphrams but how do I also test the solenoids to make sure they are working properly? I don't want to waste money and time rebuilding this block when buying a new block is more expensive but guarantees me that in the immediate future I will not be replacing another solenoid.

Does any one know how to test these solenoids?

You can test the solenoids by making up a pigtail harness and activating them manually, but you will need air in the tank for it to work. If your pump has quit, it may have burned out the thermal switch from working too had to make up for a worn compressor seal and leaks elsewhere.

Check out these pdf's for some guidance. I had a 1999 P38 and I rebuilt the valve block, rebuilt the compressor and replaced the thermal switch. Plus I did a few bladders along the way. It was all pretty simple, just need to follow the guides. The valve block rebuild took about 1 1/2 hours, the pump seal and thermal switch takes maybe 45 minutes.

I've already replaced the springs at all four corners over the last two years so I'm fine there. Can you forward the pdfs that you mentioned?

Thanks!

Sorry about that. I thought the link was in the post, but I must not have hit Ctrl+V! Here you go: So. Cal. Used Rover Parts

These guys are also the place to get the parts you need to rebuild you EAS system.

After I finished with my rebuild, the system was awesome. It worked fantastic. Most people seem to be anxious to just put in a set of coils but it costs much less to just rebuild what you have and the ride is way better.
