Default 02 d2 block vacuum test ???'s

I have both heads off already as there were combustion gassed getting into the coolant system causing the truck to blow out the new expansion tank cap and eventually overheat. How do I check to make sure the block and cylinder sleeves and all are good in my garage at my house? Any DIY-ers out there with tips before I get the heads to the machine shop and start putting everything back together?

Pressure test the block. There are many threads that discuss it.

I've been looking for such a thread with no avail. I've seen a fee people mention kits you can rent, but have not found anything to back that up either. Can you point me in the correct direction with a link or anything?

That would be greatly appreciated.

I have and used a regular pressure checker on the coolant system before the heads were removed and it failed. That does not tell you if it is just a head gasket or the block though. Heads are off now and I want to check the block.

Ah Ha! I have one. Received it and the water pump that they welded up to hold pressure got warped and would not seal up. I just got it back from the machine shop(after straightening), ready to go.

I have another member who is going to confirm tonight if he needs it, if not I can rent it to you. $50 and you pay for the shipping both ways.
