Default 03' Freelander Problem

I am a long time lurker, first time poster on this great forum.

I have a 2003 Freelander HSE and just started having big problems this morning when I tried to crank it. When I cranked it up this morning it would idle very heavy and then die after about 5 seconds. If I pressed the gas alittle it would stay cranked but would not move when I pressed the gas. I tried to crank it again and this time it stayed cranked with no gas applied but the "Service Engine Soon" and "Service Engine" lights come on and stayed on. When I press the gas it would idle down and eventually go dead. I am lost on what could be wrong all of a sudden because I drove it about 200 miles yesterday with no signs of a problem. What could be wrong?

Thank You in Advance.

05LandRover - I am in Lower Alabama so it is not very cold down here even in the middle of the winter.

I hope it is not a fuel pump, is there anything I can do to get it running good enough to drive to dealer?

Welcome JWalker !

My guess is that your issue points to a recently published TIB. It involves replacement of the electronic throttle body connector. Your vehicle is going into limp mode.

Either way, you need to get the codes pulled and a diag. This can be done by any shop with OBDII ability.
