03 RR HSE engine rpm very high at 30 mph.
My 03 Range Rover HSE from time to time revs extremely high when driving and takes a long time to change gears. I'm only going 30mph but the rpm will be up around 4 or 5 and the car doesnt change gears easily. This has happened twice, then after the car sits it doesnt do it again for days sometimes. What could this be?

transmission. if youre lucky, and in time, go and have your radiator replaced and trans fluid changed, this might take care of it, these radiators have a bad tendancy to clog up at the bottem, which is the section that is dedicated to trans fluid cooling, when the fluid gets too hot it can cause the clutch packs to slip, generally when they slip, theyll go out all the way pretty quick, so youre probably looking at a new trans in the near future, just make sure the radiator is at least flow tested when the trans is replaced
Check the fluid level first (car up to temp, and engine running at idle).
But if definitely sounds like a heat related problem to the tranny....hopefully its just low fluid though...
