Default 130 goes crazy, something is very wrong!! helppp

Hi I got a 130 td5 2000 some months ago, but I have a problem, at first it happend only once every month or so, but now it happens every day, several times !!!
the issue is that when Im driving in the pavement road the car goes crazy, el se fuel and temp sensors star to go up and down and the engine starts to jump, not normal, until it stops.
normally what I did was unplug de car computer , blow it a little and plug it back again , and I could continue, but now it is very annoying ,
does someone know what is the issue???????

Have you had the battery and alternator checked?
Low battery voltage can cause all kinds of havoc.

I'm having simular problems with my 96 disco. When I put a load on the elec. (ac blowers, brake light-windows etc.) the temp gauge rises instantly. Speedo bounces and back speaker pops. I have a fresh battery and the alt. seems fine. Any ideas?

Check for good ground engine block to frame. This can be done simply by using a battery jumper cable from (-) post to big metal part on engine. Voltmeter can help. Heat gauge uses engine block as the return leg of the circuit, just has a single wire on sensor.

I ran a big wire from the alt. mount to the frame and still have the same problem. We dont have rust or corrosion out here-(it dont rain in the desert) I'm wondering if a bank of relays might be loose somewhere?? We do have lots of vibration, (lots of dirt roads) and it seems something is always loose or falling off my ''desert limo Disco'' Thanks

Each circuit in the truck wiring has the "hot" side (nothing to do with the desert), and the "ground side". Usually the ground side is tied down to a bolt on the chassis or metal frame somewhere. This saves having all the black wires run back to the battery under the hood. These are called earth points. If one is loose, it can make everything attached to it act foolish.

Attached is location of earth points, and pix of some likely suspects (under hood). Basically look for any black wire that bolts to metal and make sure it is a good connection.

In the circuits diagrams section of the RAVE tech manual, about page 15 - 20, there are drawings of the common earth points and what is attached to them. So you decide what isn't working, and find earth point group that serves it (like sun roof, etc.) . There will be a connector number, Cxxx in very tiny letters at end of wire on drawing. Look that up in the elecrucal library of the RAVE and you get a color pix of the location.
