2.5L cam gear position
I'm replacing the timing belts, plastic timing belt covers and the rear portion of all the covers that goes behind the cam gears which requires removal of the cam gears. After taking one of the front gears off, I noticed that the gear position is located to the cam by a tab on the center piece that the bolt goes through and that tab sits in a slot on the gear. What puzzles me is, the slot in the gear is quite wider than the tab, which allows the cam gear to be rotated on the cam a considerable amount. I can't find any info telling me anything about how to get it in the correct position before tightening the bolt. I've never worked on a Land Rover before, so any help would be great! Thanks in advance.
Oh, forgot to mention, its a 2002 Land Rover Freelander SE 2.5L V6 DOHC
