2001 Land Rover Disco SRS light on
SRS light just came on a few weeks ago - had a mechanic check it and told me it was one of the sensors.
However he did not have the diagnostic tool to tell me which one.
Is this a common problem with the Discovery II - or could it be just a connection?
Where should I start?
I don't want to bring it to a dealer because they will charge me at least two hours to diagnose it.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Hey, youre going to want to post a topic like this one under the Discovery section.
That where all the disco specific guys are!
They will help you with this question!
Oh and by the way, when that light (Service Engine Soon)comes on bring it to a place that can read the codes, they will give you a specific code. Write it down and write to us and someone will point you in the right direction and give you the meaning of the code. Without the code there is not much we can do!

Not quite the right direction, a typical scanner can not read ABS, SRS or SLS codes. You will need to faind a shop with a scanner with the proper software to access the Rovers ECU.
Let us know hat they find, and by the way, this is not a common Rover issue.

Thanks Mike - it ended up being a seatbelt sensor.
As per another member's recommendation in the Discovery section I latched the front seatbelts a couple of times
with the engine off - then the SRS light came off.
Apparently there was probably dust buildup on the passenger-side seatbelt latch mechanism as it is rarely used
(in terms of me not having anyone in the Disco as a passenger!).
