Just replaced my water pump and thermostat so I am not sure if this problem existed before but I am getting no heat when the vehicle is stationary and at idle (at a stop) - it is fine when I am driving. Also when I have it on econ setting the a/c fan is on even though the temp outside is below 50 degrees - it comes on after about 3-5 minutes after starting the vehicle. Any thoughts?

 

Sure you aux fan is on, you didn't bleed the air from your cooling system which will cause the engine to over heat and the lack of heat from the heater at idle.

Hi Mike,

The mechanic pressure tested the cooling system (but when the motor was cold) and did bleed the air out.
Can I just bring it to operating temp and bleed it on my own?

I suggested that he rebleed the engine properily, when the engine was cold, to get rid of the remaining air that was trapped in the engine.
