2003 Disco - Indicator Light on -Temp Gauge Pinned on Cold

I flushed my radiator + bled accordingly for the 10 minutes as stated.
1. Turned vehicle on:
a. temp gauge stays pinned cold bottom.
b. red dot light just above needle on and gauge never moves.
2. Had coolant temp sensor wires checked and straightened out when started second time by second person - then the gauge needle went up to top and then back to bottom cold immediately with 0 additional movement so turned off ASAP.
-No secondary signs of any overheating.
-No other issues occurring related.
*Could we not have bled properly or sensor - engine coolant temp gone bad
-Is there any suggestions to verify if has been bled correctly and done?
-What is best method to verify is sensor bad other then replace?
-Does the replacement sensor unscrew - and the wiring harness plug into the top of the sensor? - all you can see is the two wires going into the top of sensor.

It's possible it wasn't bled correctly. If the computer is expecting a temperature range from the sensor and gets something else, a code will be set.
Get a scanner and check for codes. If there is a code for the CTS (sensor you are talking about), clear it and see if it returns. I bet once you clear the code, the gauge will begin working again.
Yes, the sensor unscrews from the intake and the wiring unclips from it.
