Default 2005 Land Rover Freelander won't start, Backlights on dash flashing

Went to start my 2005 land rover freelander tonight and it wouldn't start. All the lights seemed to work, but it wouldn't turn over and all the lights, dashboard, etc. flashed on and off while I was trying to start it. It has been sitting around for a little while (my commuter vw gets better gas mileage). Hoping it's a battery that needs charging. What do you think? The weather is bad so I've decided to deal with it tomorrow.

Battery is quite possible, that vehicle has so much electronics it can't take a marginal battery. Also, clean terminals, it does not take much corrosion to put voltage below the usable point. Compared to a trip to the dealer, battery is cheap. If you have a voltmeter check charging volts once you get in cranked up, should be 14 to 14.2. If low (12.6) and not rising (charging up) might be alternator.
