Default dash backlights WTF?

Alright, so it started with some tail light problems on my 97 disco, when i fixed i blew the fuse for the tail& headlights. I replaced the fuse and now the backlights for my gauges/climate control don't work. I checked all fuses they seem fine. Anyone have anyanswers?Any help would be much appreciated, this is driving me f!@#ing nuts!!!

X2 on what Mike said. This isn't d-web.

I assume you have checked the rheostat on the dash that contols the brightness to see if there is power there?

X3 on what make said as well, this forum has class, and we will do anything we can to help, without sounding trashy.

Anyways, if all the fuses are good (double check), you need to check all the connections running to the dash. If anything looks strange let us know. Sometimes the electrical stuff on these things has a mind of its own. One thing could be fixed and the other would break because the thing you fixed caused it to not work... who knows. Just check everything closely, and try that brightness **** under the steering, sometimes it gets moved but I dont think it blacks it out completely...

No worries, you are new! But get back to us if you continue to have this problem, unless you are electrical you might need to have someone go take a look at it. These trucks have the strangest electrical problems...

Never let inanimate objects get the better of you. You are smarter than they are, hopefully. If you know which fuse sends power to it, try swapping it out with one that you know doeswork, you never know it may only look good. The only real way to findthe problemis too just keep looking for 12v down the line and find out where it stops.
