98 Struggling to start after rebuild
After removing the valve cover we were able to identify which valve component was making the tap noise. It's the fourth rocker from the rear (intake cylinder 6). From reading it seams the only way to "adjust" would be shimming the rocker shaft support, but that would also effect the exhaust rocker. So am I to assume it is a faulty lifter that's causing the noise? I'm going to check clearance tomorrow. Video attached. Not sure how well you can tell the difference of movement between faulty valve and the others.

Also, from reading the Rave, what is considered the right and left side of motor on NAS? Left is Drivers, correct?

Were the rocker arms and/or push rods replaced? I'd want to check arm and compare length of that valve's push rod to a couple of the others.
......
All valve train except cam, bearings, and seals were not replaced but cleaned. The shop said they measured everything and inspected for wear and only had to replace two springs. I have some updates here shortly. Stand by
Didn't update because I had dropped the oil pan and found pieces and shavings of metal (posted new thread with that concern). General consensus is the break in oil has metal in it and the pieces of metal are from the motor being cleaned and rebuilt.
Oil pick up tube was found lose (finger right) and without gasket. Will be reinstalling pick up and pan today and rechecking oil pressure. Hopefully it will help the lifters as well. Hoping to avoid pulling rocker assembly for inspection. May just do it anyways.
I'll post tonight with status. Hopefully this information will help someone down the road.
