Default Anyone have positive/negative experience with ClusterFix?

I have a 2008 LR3 instrument cluster that randomly goes in and out, although it doesn't affect the driving experience or any ripple effects with locks or the radio or anything.

Since new OEM clusters are $1k+ and I have the Gap IID tool, I bought a used cluster from ebay only to find out afterward that the car's odometer system will "set" itself to whichever of the numbers is highest. So in my case, my car with only 105k actual miles, would take an unacceptable hit in what the odometer reading.

Sounds like there's some kind of motherboard-style issues that pop up on these frequently enough that they are able to form a business around fixing them. From what I can tell, they basically "refresh" some of circuitry and that tends to solve a lot of these issues - but they don't diagnose or troubleshoot specifics. It costs $389 but also shouldn't require reprogramming either.

So with all that in mind - has anyone ever used this service and what was your experience?
