arbitrary power loss?
Hello, so while driving around the other day, the gas pedal became pretty unresponsive. My first thought was the engine was stalling, so i pulled over and turned it off. Popped the hood, no smoke, didnt feel overly hot. Turned it back on, started right away and no problem drove off. After that my check engine light came on (codes were cleared the day before) So today while going to school, I ran through a big puddle, and it did the same thing. Only for a second or 2 at most, then it was fine. Could the 02 sensors cause this at all? That's what the check engine light is on for, and I know they are both destroyed (prior owner told me) I looked this up, and have found similar issues, but not exactly the same, and never saw a cause. Thanks!
Well, you might want to check codes again. You could have fuel pump going out or loose wiring to it; Crank Position Sensor about to die (kills sparks until engine cools off a little). Or just really old plug wires that have lots of cracks in insulation.
