Default banging and clanging 97 disco

I have a 97 discovery, I was driving at about 15 to 20 miles an hour, when I heard alot of banging an clanging right under the driver seat. I've been feeling a vibration in the front wheels for about a month. Can anyone tell me what i'm looking for?

Default RE: banging and clanging 97 disco

Could be your front drive shaft. They are prone to failure after 90K. Check it ASAP ! It can let loose and take out your trans. Big $$.

Edit; only prone to fail on DII's. On your DI it could be the drive shaft but more likely a blown CV joint. See if it gets worse on sharp turns and let us know.
