Default Britpart Omitec Lynx Dianostic Kit

Update.

I recently bought one of these Britpart Omitec Lynx Dianostic Kit, although I hadn't used it fully I have explored the possible used far more now both for my D2 and RRS. It has to be one of the most comprehensive diagnostics kits available to Landrover owners.

Lynx Diagnostics Interface | Single Model Home User Version | Britpart

It is available in many languages and can tackle virtually any electronic sensing problem on a Landrover. Not only does it read and clear codes it also pinpoints various problems. I am more than pleased with it's performance.

The bonus is that the software is produced by Omitec who are renowned for reliability of their products.

I'd be happy if it listed a price.

Hi Shift

The prices would be around the US$350-400. It runs on a computer, tablet or phone with Windows OS between XP Pro and Win 10.

Doesn't work on Android.

Looking at this Lynx for my D2. How is it working out for you and recommendations? Thanks for any updates.

The Lynx is a superb piece of kit and ideally suited to LR's. You do need a windows laptop or tablet to view the system. IMO it probably does everything a DIY enthusiast needs to do from auto brake bleeding to adjusting air suspension. It can isolate specific codes to equipment and not a general code for the whole system. I believe it is better than other similar priced diagnostic readers and a more stable company.

I bought a cheap Linx tablet with a separate keyboard specifically to run this system. Using a laptop is too unwieldy inside an LR.

Hope this helps.

Default your thoughts on programming?

You seem very high on the Lynx. I'm curious if you've used it successfully for any programming functions. It's been a great code reader for me, but I'm extremely frustrated with Britparts lack of customer support and what seems to be misleading claims about the unit with respect to its programming functions: https://landroverforums.com/forum/ge...ailures-82623/

It depends what exactly you are trying to (re) program, I have accessed many engine ops without any issues. Maybe you are attempting something beyond it's capabilities. The Lynx ops manual is online.
