Catalytic Converter??
I have a '99 Disco II and have had problems with it running poorly, especially on the highway. It seems as if it is having a fuel problem, it is underpowered and struggles when you give it gas. I took it to a small LR shop and they said it was the catconverters? Is this a common diagnosis for the problem? Do these things really go out that fast? My truck only has 59K miles on it. Is there another issue I should address before doing this repair?
Thanks a bunch!!!!

That shop is way off base, if you had bad cats, you would have a check engine light throwing cat codes.
What has been done to the engine as far as tune up related work, what octane gas are you running????

I had it tuned up about a year and a half ago, I am running 90 octane gas in it now, for a while though my brother had it in New Orleans and I think he ran 87 in it. It runs fine around town for the most part but on the highway it bogs down. If you kind of "feather" the throttle a bit you can get it up to highway speed but other than that you can't.
