Default D1 transfer case

Hi, at the risk of being redundant; I need to replace the transfer case on my 95 Disco w/auto transmission. I've looked through the forums on here and can't find a clear answer to what other years/models use the same t-case that i can use. Wrecking yard guy says only a 94-95 Disco t-case will work, hard to believe that, a lot of other trucks use that LT230 case.. thanks for any info..

Never take advise from a wrecking yard guy...cause pretty soon he'll just say it's not worth fixing a landy and to just junk it. Any year lt 230 will fit. You have to watch out for different high range ratios though cause there are 6 or 7. I have an lt230 that I pulled out of my 98. It works great,I just went for a lower gear ratio so I got a newer transfer case. It is for sale if you are interested

As long as it's from a d1 it'll fit. The d1 uses a zfhp22 where as the d2 uses a zfhp24. The d2 is more electronical than the d1
