Defender Repair in Spain?
Ahoy!
Might be a bit of a long shot, but might anyone here have experience getting their Landy repaired and/or serviced in Spain?
Alas, just as I was about to leave Europe and embark on a trans-African overlanding trip, doing zoological research or something or other, the clutch has gone on my Defender 110 2.4 TDCi (2007). Found myself unable to change gears on the motorway near Seville; limping into a nearby forest to wild camp and wrangle with it for a few days, and I've managed to get it running 'okay' (albeit with considerable intermittent squealing and clunking) but it really needs a thorough looking at by someone with experience with Land Rovers. Clutch fluid reservoir was lower than expected, and dirty - will likely need to replace the master and slave cylinder seals, which is a job beyond my capability, especially in the field, and more.
Currently near Cádiz, and was shortly heading down towards Tarifa to catch the ferry into Tangier. Might anyone know of a trustworthy mechanic in the area? Closest I can find via Google is all the way across in Málaga which is a good 3-4 hour drive, which I'm not confident of making. Any ideas or recommendations?
Incidentally the windscreen wipers have also packed it in, and will have to remove the dashboard and see if I can either fix, else replace, the motor. Any insight into getting parts shipped etc. also appreciated! And general servicing before a desert jaunt.
Apologies if this is in the wrong place; new to the forum and all. Thanks for reading!
