If starter relay does not click, then BCU is not supplying ground, or fuse 23 inside truck is blown.

Unplug starter relay. Look at small numbers on relay. Look for 87 and 30. Not 87A. Put jumper in pins of base that match up to 87 & 30. At that point starter should engage and turn engine.

Question

No luck. I tried bridging 87 and 30 and not no action from the starter. No solenoid click or anything. What now?

With truck in park, emergecy brake on, wheels chocked; you can try jumping the starter solenoid directly. Unplug the small wire from starter, use another wire to connect from that "tab" on the starter to the big wire from the battery on the starter. Be prepared to only hold this for a second. If not starter action time for another. Sometimes tapping on it firmly will free up a sticking solenoid. See pix attached. I'd pull fuse for fuel pump to be sure it won't crank and run over you.

Question Starter test

That's how I bench tested the old starter successfully as well as the new one before I dropped it in. I had ordered the starter before I bench tested the old one. The starter is new and I have no reason to believe it is bad.

Why would the truck run me over if it turned over in park?

I replaced the negative battery lead and cleaned up every contact and ground I could find and it starts and runs great. I never found a smoked wire I can only attribute the smoke to some solvent used to clean the old starter. As far as the hazards that wouldn't shut off and the alarm not working- like most problems it was solved by a reboot. Thank you for you help Buzz.
