I think you can trust it. My original would not "re-learn" and new IACV, no matter what I did. Bought one for $30 at partz vulturez emporium and been doing OK for a year plus. Why isn't fuel pressure at 32-34 PSI at idle?

I am unsure of fuel pressure precise numbers, but it appeared reasonable. Spoke with dealer service dept (land rover) earlier this evening. The fellow I spoke with said there was no vin matching to vehicle required. His comment was that if security systems rolling codes matched up it would run and otherwise it would not. Short of biting bullet and spending another $350 on camshaft pos sensor I really don't know quite what else to try? Any cheaper place to obtain that camshaft position sensor? At this point I am doubting problem with ecu/ECM, but how can it be checked??

Also read link to one similar post and it mentioned vehicle speed sensor as another culprit. Will try unhooking that and driving tomorrow before I order cam pos sensor. Am I on right tract??

CSS when failing can make engine loose power like a governor. e c u can run with cam sensor unplugged.

no different with vss unhooked. i have found difficulty in obtaining a cam pos. sensor locally, other than land rover dealer. ordering a used one from dismantling yard in oklahoma. they said 90 day warranty on part, which i will gamble on for 1/4 to 1/5 price of new. it seems part err6170 is becoming very difficult to obtain. advance, napa, car quest show them but when they try to order shows as "unavailable". same thing from rovers north - they stated they had to order one from manufacture in UK. whats up with parts unavailability for not only this but many other makes i am seeing. is it forced obsolescence?

An update - I ordered a used cam shaft sensor and installed. I know new would have been best, but at this point I'm still unsure which direction to pursue. Code p0340 which said camshaft sensor error or something like that is now gone. After clearing codes, and installing new ngk plug wire set old familiar codes came back - 1196 for o2 sensor, 1316 misfire/excessive emissions, and first time for 0300 which i believe said random misfire. Trucks exhibits same low/no power below 3000 rpm. Runs good past that point in engine range. Misses and backfires now under load uphill at low road speed /low rpms. I did obtain live obd data from scan tool showing no voltage to one o2 sensor, and very low voltage to another. Two are new being replaced by me 200 miles back in this troubleshooting. O2 s11 reads 0.010 v, o2 s12 reads 0 v, o2 s21 reads 0.165 v, and o2 s22 reads 0.005 v. Theses numbers seem all askew. Which direction should I go next??

First manufactures stop making parts at the 10yr mark, it is to costly to make parts for cars that are older than that.
Think about it, how many people are going to drop $350 for a single part for a 15yr old truck that can be bought for $1500?
Second the wire set you used is junk, you need to use a good wire set.
Your O2's will not show a constant volt reading, they will vary from .01v to1.0v.
Sensor - Camshaft (Part # NSC100840) - Land Rover sensors from Atlantic British
Also remember that as the parts supply gets smaller the price of the parts will increase.
Supply and demand baby, supply and demand.
