Default Driver seat cover

Is anyone familiar with a seat bottom ? I see them on e-bay and they look like a cover that would go over the seat section of a bucket seat to cover a tear in the leather. I am just not familiar with the term seat bottom.

Thanks

I'm pretty familiar with mine, at least the drivers side, we spend a lot of time together and are pretty close.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

For me a seat bottom is the lower section of the seat that your butt is planted on.

Are you asking about purchasing a used one? We sell them and I have swapped them out several times. On D1 and D2 the driver and passenger side are interchangeable.

Good luck

Thanks for the info, I guess I walked right into that one!!!

I am guessing that you just remove the seat and replace the bottom cover. Are any special tools required to replace the cover?

The seat doesn't have to be removed, but it helps.

There are long plastic J clips on all sides. You need to release those. The rear is the trickiest as it has the upper back panel J clip over it. You could use some pry tools and a larger sturdy pick tool to remove them. They break pretty easily. It helps if you have someone sit on the seat bottom to release the tension while you unhook the clips. You will also need to unclip the heating element electrical connector.
