My son has a 96 ds 1 with no brake lights if the cars running or not. I checked the fuses twice under dash and under hood all seem fine . I pulled the brake switch off and tested the wires. there is no voltage at the plug then I jumped the plug out with a wire and still no brake lights. if the fuse is good what should I check next. all other lights work including turn signals.
any ideas

Brake light switch? Located under the brake pedal. Try replacing it and see if that solves the problem. Have you already checked/replaced your bulbs? How is the wiring to the rear lights?

 

wires and bulbs are good I jumped out the brake switch still no lights, Is there suppose to be voltage at the brake switch? if so where can I trace it from ? Thanks for your help.
