Default Dsco 2000 ac heater front blower

I have a 2000 disco II. The ac and heater blower has started working on and off. I have bought a knew blower unit and it looks fairly easy to replace. I have tested the control panel for the ac/heating and it comes up fine. If I replace the blower should all be well. If the knew blower does not wrk correctly what else could it be. I bought this disco Knew and have been religious on service. Have never had any issues with it. I just assume some things will need to be replaced. AM I going about this right. Thank You for the info. This forum is very helpful.

should be able to replace the blower motor housing with 4 or 5 screws and 5-10 minutes.
you probably want to check to see if there is power at the plug before you put the new one in.

there is a clip on utube that shows you how to trouble shoot your HVAC using the dash control unit

Are you certain the problem is with the blower motor and not the HVAC control unit? It would seem a terrible waste to rip the blower assembly out before testing the motor. I know one DI's the switch controlling blower speed acts up long before the actual motor goes. The other common malady is a bad blower resister which shows itself on both the DI and DII with the blower only functioning on high speed.

If you can, remove the glove box, it's just 4 7mm bolts. Locate the wires delivering power to the blower motor. See if 12 volts gets the blower going. If it does, the problems more than likely in the HVAC.

Default update

I checked the main control unit and it came up ok. I replaced the blower fan and that seems to have fixed it. Blows like crazy now wrks great. Pretty easy fix. Thank you for all of the help. Like I had mentioned I bought this knew in 1999. Love it will never get rid of it. Replacing everything as It breaks. Keeping it mint. Last thing I'm going to add to it is a snorkel. I have just had a great experience with it. No real major issues and it has 238k miles on it. I have driven the newer ones and they just seem cheaply made in comparison. Thank you again all for the help. This forum is amazing.
