Default Electrical issue with speakers

This is the strangest thing I've ever run into even with a Land Rover. When I'm driving my 2004 Discovery II, periodically the left side speakers will just stop producing sound, if I shift into neutral and back into drive the speakers come back on. Anybody have any idea what it could possibly be?

Only thing I can thing of is the speaker wire, connections, or bad ground.

Are you saying there may possibly be a bad ground on the stereo itself?

Me Thinks ...he is saying there is a loose connection or loose ground some where , when you shift , the shake will cause the short in the sound ... so you got to check the speaker connections first then all the other ones ...

I agree, it's probably something with the wiring. I experienced a similar problem with my car speakers, i'd sometimes tap it hard and the sound would come back (but that's just me). Try to have it checked for signs of short circuit. You might need to have a fuse replaced.
