I'm almost ashamed to ask this because I've been very careful while doing my first head gasket job. I'm putting everything back together and noticed two bolts for the lower manifold were larger than the others. I don't want to guess where they go. Can anyone assist?

do you mean the intake manifold ?

 

Rave refers to it as the lower manifold. The one that the fuel rails attach to.

 

yes ,I believe that 2 of the bolts are longer( I'm trying to remember when I did my buddy's d2 ) but I think that the shorter ones are too short to screw into place where the longer ones should be. I think the went towards the front of the manifold...first or second set of holes

 

Thanks! I had a feeling it was the front. Knowing short ones won't fit is very comforting

 

Put them all in and just start the threads....looking at them they should all need an equall ammount of tightening , if you can visualize that, good luck !
