Cool Engine blinking light

I just had a new engine placed into a 1998 Land Rover Discovery. The engine light turned on & now it has started to blining. Its running. The catalytic converted will also be replaced. Im not sure why light is blinking. Will call Land Rover dealership to ask them.

Wow. For the price of a new engine, you could buy several pre-owned Disco 1s. The check engine light indicates that some codes are present, they can be read by dealer (should be part of engine warranty) , for free at most large auto parts stores; or you can purchase your own reader, which will also allow you to reset the codes and turn off the light.

If you get the codes, please reply back so we can discuss each of them.

Also, a flashing check engine light means you have a catalyst damaging misfire happening. Only call the dealership if they were the ones that replaced the engine. Otherwise, I would call the repair shop that installed it.
