Smile Engine Immobilisation Control Unit (Spider) (Z271)

Hello from Lakeland Florida . A few years ago we got a 1998 Land Rover Discovery On one day the rover engine would die whenmaking a right turn it did it anout four times, no codes and would not repeat during testing.
After a few days it would not stay running at all, Wife's dailly driver, and I was out of town , but ran across a 1999 Land Rover Discovery ran good and in pretty good shape, So we got the 1999 her new car, I did get
back to the 1998 and relpaced the crank sensor and crank sensor wires , plus the fuel pump , all seems to be goos to go. then about a week ago the 1999 Rover did not want to run it would start then die not stay
running, no codes. I unpluged the Mas air sensor and it would start and run poorly. So replaced the Mas air sensor with a new one all seened ok. Made a couple of trios one about 60 miles and one abouit 20 mlies, all good.
The the other day went to take it , the 1999, to store and just made it out of the driveway and it dyed. No codes, I found this
https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/86-th...m-spider-post/, Symptoms of this failure are typically an intermittent non-start or cutting out while driving (or both), which usually gets progressively worse until it
is happening very regularly. Typically you will find that leaving the vehicle from a few minutes to a few hours will allow it to be started, only for the fault to repeat later on. So now I have taken the dash all apart
and did not find the Engine Immobilisation Control Unit (Spider) (Z271). I am at he monent somewhat at a loss, In hopes the some of you one of you may have already solved this and can help me out. I have come to like the
rovers and will at some time find the answer. Thanks guys and gals for reading my Woes

Sounds like a failing CPS (Crank Position Sensor) to me

I replaced the Crank position Sensor when the other Rover that is one year old stopped working, figuring only one year apart it would be next,

Well with no security immobilization on this Rover , I am back to the Crank Sensor. To me that is the only thing that makes since. So after I get every thing back together I will change the crank sensor back. It was not acting up with the old one I changed it as a preventive measure , because the other Rover's crank sensor stopped working . The 1998 one year older seemed like a good idea at the time. What are the odds of the new crank sensor going bad in a few weeks?

may not be the sensor itself ....but maybe the wiring harness to it.....they get hot / old/ and brittle....sometimes the the insulation on the wires just bakes and falls off.....could cause a short or no signal

Yes I aware of how the wires do the other Rover wires came apart when I touched them. This Rover wires are ok, .The crank sensor, this Rover
will run with the Mass Air Sensor is disconnected , so I am start to think that it might be the wires between the MAS and the ECU or
the ECU . I have replaced the MAS with no change and good voltage to the MAS
