hey guys, i have posted a thread in the range rover section and need more help on an issue, wen accelerating the sound that comes out of the muffler isnt that of a muffled v8, more of a sucking jet noise. just wondering what could it be? i made a video so u can hear it.

So, have you crawled under and listened yet???
What are you hearing and from where.

i did crawl under, and couldnt hear the same noise anywhere else, except for out the muffler, if u check out the vid(allow time to load) u will see what i mean. im sorta worried cos mayb i think something else could be wrong, i used the 1,2,3-d sequence and revved the car to about 4750rpm ( the other day), didnt think its much though, thanks for any more help

Hey, its me again, i havnt taken the rangy in to the shop yet, but i did have another look at it myself and may have discovered the problem, with the car running i was looking into the exhaust hole and saw somthing, i turned it off and got a screwdriver and stuck it into the hole and i felt somthing, it was soft, sorta like rope, now i dont know if ther should be anything there so i havnt ripped it out, but now im thinking someone might hav put it up there, [:@], so just wondering if there should be something soft in the muffler, if not, ill rip it out and hopefully should be alright. After this ill stop annoying you guys, thanks

 

Your muffler has heat resistant material inside the housing that is used to deaden the exhaust noise.
