Fix for DII Sun Visor Swinging Loosely When Turning?
I have a Discovery II with a sun visor that swings loosely and hits me in the head while turning. Any ideas to fix it without replacing it? Note, this isn’t that the visor is falling out of its retaining clips, but that the swinging arm, when positioned to block the sun on the driver’s side window, is swinging back toward the windshield when turning.
i think there are three screws retaining it. pull those out and disconnect the wiring for the mirror light. then you should be able to see if there's any way to tighten the swivel.
I pulled off the visor and found a crack in the post that’s allowing it to swing without enough resistance so it hits you while turning... I tried clamping it with epoxy, but it’s pretty stubborn plastic and that didn’t do any good.
I'm trying to save a buck. Anyone know if I can get this trim piece without the actual visor?
