Default Fix A Thred product any good?

Stripped out bolt hole #3 for intake manifold, at 40 newton meters, needed to get to 51 newton meters. Will this repair kit work? Will one sleeve be enough for 51 nm or should two be "stacked" ? I have to remove the intake to drill the head surface, and work will be delayed for 9 days. So I have time to order something else. 3/8 by 16 bolt.

Thoughts?

Wish I could help you Buzz, but I have never had to deal with that problem in the past. Maybe Tom will reply, he should know.

Generic Heli Coil, should be okay with one insert. Stacking doesn't really work very well, difficult to get them sync'd. When you tighten a bolt into a Heli Coil it causes the insert to wedge tight into the surrounding surface, probably stronger than the original threaded hole you are repairing. Make sure you use the drill size stated on the package, and be careful where the piece goes that you have to knock out of the bottom of the insert after it is installed.

x2 on using one insert and the specified bit size.

I just used one of these to repair a couple transmission pan bolts on my wife's mini-van. Pretty straightforward, you just have to get the odd size bit. I was drilling in aluminum, so it was pretty easy drilling and tapping in my case. The coil just screws right in after that. Worked great for my application, although I did not have to use near that kind of torque.
