Front sensor Velar 2024
Hi,
so I bought a new RR velar end of March 2024.
about 6 weeks ago all my driver assistance was grey / disabled out and I thought it was linked to a compute update so took it to the retailer I bought it from (Bedford)
when they looked at it they said it was down to a crack on the sensor (that they said would have been an impact from a stone or something but couldn’t prove!) and would cost £3200 to fix / replace !!!!!
it certainly didn’t happen on my watch and could only have happened by a stone, if a car reversed into me they would hit the number plate part of the car, the sensor is set back a bit underneath
so my frustrations here are
1. how can a bit of cracked plastic cost £3200?!! - daylight robbery !! And poor design
2. The car is designed to go off road so if it gets a crack unknown when driving on normal roads then surely it’s not designed correctly ?
the retailer nor the manufacturer are willing to help me!
looking for some help / guidance ?
thanks
Dan
