Default HELP ! 2012 Defender 90 Immobilized

Hi. My name is John. First time on this forum. My wife and I have recently relocated to Chicago USA and have had to leave my wife's Defender behind in Hamburg, Germany. It's 2012, immaculate condition, only 20,000 miles. We have left it with a friend of ours who has stored it over the winter and is getting it ready for sale in April. Below is what he wrote to me this morning.
I took the Defender for a little Spin to charge the battery and keep things moving.
Stopped at home. 10 minutes later I wanted to return it to the garage.
It starts but it won't move more than a few meters. It stalls. If you let it idle, it shuts down after 30 or so seconds.
As the alarm goes off for about a second when starting the car I suppose it has something to do with the immobiliser control unit.
I talked to the Land Rover guys at Hugo Pfohe to ask one of them (he also lives in Norderstedt) to plug in the tester to see what the problem is but these testers only work inside the Pfohe network.
Honestly... I don't know what to do. I can't tow it there. I can't drive it there.
Rolf from British 4x4 said it might gave something to do with the clutch-sensor - but that wouldn't affect the idle and the alarm, would it ?
Do you have any ideas ?

I'm pretty handy mechanically myself but I'm 5000 miles away and I don't know the vehicle at all. Has anyone experienced this before, and does anyone have knowledgeable advice/suggestions on how to handle this ?
THANKS !
John.
