Default help-disco II window problem

2001 Disco SD passenger side fwd door window will only lower approx 1 " with console switch... Also, when attempt to fully raise the window, it will not travel up fully & leaves approx 1/4" gap at top. The window glass does not go up or down evenly through this 1" of travel in either direction. How difficult is it to remove the door panel & access the window regulator/motor assy anf tracks. Has anyone else experrienced the same problem and is this a 'problematic area' that can be easily fixed simply by reseating the glass into a channel? I believe that the motor functions ok, as it energizes and will drive the glass in both directions...albeit only an inch. It SEEMS to be more of an alignment (mechanical linkage) problem, but I have no experience with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You need a new window regulator.
