Hello People,
I just bought for myself a 2001 disco, and I need to have both the VIN and Engine number to be able to register it here in Nigeria. Can anybody pls tell me exactly where the Engine number is located in the engine.
Kindly treat as urgent.

I thought there was a metal plate with the engine number on it on the front of the engine bay..but I may be thinking US vehicles...worth a check until other members post!

 

The engine serial number is located on the block, near the dipstick tube on the left side.
