Default HELP! Discovery I cutsout at low speed

So, first post here, help would be extremely appreciated!
I helped my father try to jumpstart his old BMW and my engine kept cutting out during the jump start. Then when I tried to drive off the engine cutout at a stop sign. I tried again and it started. I drove it a couple hundred feet ad when I took m foot off the gas, the engine cut out again. After that it will start and rev but when I try to shift into drive it keeps cutting out.
After revving in neutral and quickly shifting into drive I was able to drive back to his house and it seemed okay. No odd shifting and when I braked it didn't cutout again.

Not great electrical so I could se some tips and ideas on what the problem ay be and how to fix it!

Any ideas? Thanks in advanced!

Volt meter will tell if your electrical system is acting up. You should have 13.8 - 14.4 volts across the battery, at idle, with nothing else on (no lights, AC, etc.).

If electrical is OK, would remove and clean IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) with carb cleaner, and do not wiggle th end of it. Also clean bore it comes out of.
