Default Steering locks when driving at low speed round corners...

Anybody had this problem and/or know of any possible solutions...
Have '03 LR Discovery II, great drive. HOWEVER at low speed and generally whilst turning steering wheel occasionally the steering locks.
Can always be 'unlocked' by pulling (jerking) in the opposite direction but
a little disconcerting to say the least.
Have tried everything we know of including changing out the intermediate steering column and the actual locking/lock mechanism, also replaced power steering box and pump a while ago - all to no avail.
Any suggestions / solutions greatly appreciated...

Actually the steering is only locked by the lock cylinder.

put a lock cylinder rebuilt by a locksmith. If that doesn't work get one from land rover or a junkyard.

I had my gear box lock while on the highway, it was in fact the box, not the tumblers and Rover did replace it with a new one under warranty. I would have someone check it ASAP.

Hi thanks for that - we also changed out the steering gear box as the old one was leaking badly - unless we replaced it with a bad one !?!
