Exclamation Help, First time Disco Owner

As a graduation gift to myself, I bought a 5 speed 95 Discovery I last year. I was skeptical about purchasing a 20 year old car, however this is my dream vehicle, I have wanted a manual land rover since I was a kid, and the fun fixing it up and making it like new again is well worth the time and investment to me.

I purchased the truck from a Dr. in Vermont who had just spent almost $10K worth of repair work bring it back to life, however ended up just purchasing a new 2015 Discover instead.

The truck has 185k miles on it however, in the last 10k miles, the truck has received ( I have the receipts from all this work when I bought the truck)

NEW:

Brakes
Rotors
Suspension
shocks
tires
battery
cooling system (not total rebuild but works perfectly now)
Alternator
clutch (thats right it is a 5 speed )
ARB Brush Guard (1100$)
CV joints
Battery

and a few other things including a good amount of engine work.

note* The cost of the new tires and brush bar alone is more that what I paid for the truck.

The Disco runs really well, still pumping out a lot of power, and I am getting 20+ miles per gallon on the interstate.

So here is where I need some help, The only big issue I am having is the front wheel hub housing gaskets are worn and leak. I am also worried that the actually bearings inside the hub assemble have gone bad as I am getting some vibrations in the front tires at high speeds and when I hit any large bumps in the road. I would like to replace the entire hub assemblies for both front wheels.

Is this a difficult repair for me to attempt myself?
Also how serious is this repair in terms of safety driving

I currently live in Virginia, but I just took a Job across the country in AZ. I have to be in AZ within 2 weeks. I need to figure out how I am getting my Rover there. It would cost about 1200$ to ship it. Can I take the trip if I drive slow and break it up over a couple days and fix it asap when I arrive in AZ?

Thanks for the help! I am not trying to be cheap but, I am a recent college graduate so until I get started up with my new job I need to be careful with my budget.

Yea that video is how I learned when I did it the first time. I've since done it about 4 more times on different trucks. Take your time and lay out the parts as they come off. Keep one side together for reference. Do your self a favor and replace as much as you can while your in there. The kit from Rovah Farm is pretty good. Don't forget to buy the shims for the preload. I got the "fish scale " to set the preload at Bass Pro shops for 7 bucks. It's ALOT easier than it sounds.

Yea I have been looking for a kit to do the job, I am just afraid that I will be half way into the project and will be missing some small extra part to finish everything. That video does seem really helpful though.

How much of an emergency would you say this repair is? I The wobble isn't very noticeable yet. Just at very high speeds. I am just saying because it would be much easier for me to fix this after I move but I don't know if it is stupid to make the 2000Mile trip without fixing it.

I'd lift up the front wheels and do a shake down. If you have major movement up and down or side side you may want to get it fixed before.

You could always repack the bearings and see if that tightens things up. Either way you will need the large hub socket. If you decide to roll with it then at least check swivel housing oil (or grease) level.
