Can anyone help me please, im stuck in Spain, with little money and cant get my 1998 disco 2.5tdiimmobiliser off ! this is whats happened. My battery died, i charged it up, it worked for a day or two and it died again, this is after a 1600 mile trek from the UK eventually ending up in Spain. Some guy offered to get me started but put the jump leads on wrong, i saw it spark and he pulled them off, but then when put the right way round the little immobiliser light started to flash when the key was put in and turned. I checked the handbook, which suggests the key fob, which had been ok, should reset it, it doesnt, ive tried the manual overide with the emergency key code in the drivers door lock but it does nothing ! Help please, any one know whats gone wrong or how to sort it. By the way as a just in case measure ive replaced the battery in the key fob.

does your remote work, lock or unlock, or do nothing at all... if it does nothing, press the one of the buttons 8-16 times quickly, stop when it does something, and then try to start. if not, im not sure man, the light is soley for passive immobilizatoin, only security related stuff.

 

Try disconnecting the battery for a half hour. Hopefully the guy helping you out didnt fry your electrics.
