Hey folks,

I have a 97 d1 and I have just bought a couple of new key fobs as my original one no longer worked from any more distance than about two feet! How do I reprogram it to my truck?

Key fob programming is only done at the dealership or and independent dealer with the right computer called Testbook.
You may consider replacing the batteries on the original to improve distance and performance.

 

X2 on replacing the battery and giving the old one another shot.

I recall there are directions to reset it in the manual. I reset mine a while back on my old DI after I ran into similar problems....I think it was something like holding down both buttons for 3-5 seconds, all the marker lights will flash to let you know when it's reset...check the manual though cuz I'm not positive

 

97 goes to the dealer. earlier ones can be reprogrammed manually. I only know this from my books.

 

X3 for changing the battery, that's what I did with the keyfob for my 97 Disco. Instructions are in the owners manual

 

i do a bit of work on cars and was wondering how long it would take me to change drivers side blend motor.
