Default Indicator Problems and Just Found CD Player!

Hi folks,

Have a problem with the indicators on my Disco II, when I flick them on to go left or right sometimes, particularly when the car is cold, nothing happens. But sometimes I'll flick them and they won't work until I start turning the steering wheel to go round a corner. Sometimes I give the steering wheel a little wiggle and they decide to work. Are there any steps I can take to try and fix the problem that won't involve taking off the steering wheel and air bags etc? Quite worrying seeing as at this stage it probably won't pass a WOF/MOT.

Also just found the CD player under the Driver's seat, but that doesn't work, it's plugged in and that cable seems to go through the armrest thingy alright. There is a cable next to it that seems to have been cut, but I haven't worked out whether it's the same one yet, it that normal?

Cheers,
David

For your indicator problem... try reinserting or swapping the indicator relays (they are black with green stripes) that are located under the steering wheel area.

Had a go at switching them round, might have helped a bit, but still get no response sometimes when I push the stalk down to go left or right. Thanks for the help!

The entire turn signal switch can be replaced very easily by just removing the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column. I'd start there since it's simple and cheap. They're readily available on eBay here.

Awesome, I'll look into it, I assume I thought it would be more complicated because replacing the horn buttons is a huge pain.

Thanks!
