Unhappy Injector problems on Disco TD5 2002

Hi Guys / Girls

I had to have the cylinder head redone on my Disco TD5 2002 model as the valve seat on the number 1 piston cracked. When i put the "new" head back on the engine started normally, but no power. Could only rev up to 2000 rpm, and then only slowly. This was using the injectors that came out of the head (green code). The local landy doctor working on the engine then changed the injectors and the engine started after much cranking. Good power, but running rough. A third set of reconditioned injectors yeilded the same result.

Other parts checked include the diesel pump (4 bar pressure),& diesel pipes. The vehicle has 90 000km on this engine, and there were no problems until the "head" overhaul.

Any advice? The landy doctor wants to replace all injectors with brand new ones at $2900 for the 5. Is this the solution?

Sounds to me like the pump timing is off. On a TD5 diesel the pump is driven by the timing belt that would have to have been removed to remove the cylinder head. If it didn't do this before the head work, the chances are very slim that all the injectors failed while the head was being machined.
