Jack stands- where to place?

Jack stands- where to place?
I'm about to pull the starter and I have the jack stands. Wheels chocked. Parking brake set. I'm about to jack up the front passenger side, place the stand, then jack the driver's side, and place. But exactly where? I only have the original jack and am using the jacking points suggested in the manual. But should I use the axle points as the RAVE suggests? It looks like that would be done if I jacked up the whole front end at once instead of one side at a time.
I've been searching and haven't come up with the answer yet.
Thanks for help with what I think is a simple thing. I just don't want the stands in the wrong place!

At least its tall enough to help some if it fails. I had mine jacked up and was underneath it when a small earthquake hit here in East TN. Everybody was talking about it and all I thought was how freaked out I would have been if it hopped off the jack . I had enough clearance where I was at but I am sure I would have needed a new pair of pants lol.

Thanks for your responses. I went with the axle. Luckily I have a neighbor with the 3 ton jack hydraulic jack and I'm using 3 ton jack stands. A related question- Where exactly is the correct place to use this? I read in the Workshop Manual-
" Position cup of hydraulic arm under differential casing (1).The differential casing is not central to the axle. Care should be taken when raising the front road wheels off the ground as the rear axle has less sway stiffness."
I haven't done this yet, but is it really ok to raise this high enough to place the jack stands? I do have both rear wheels chocked. But as I'll be lifting off center, won't it be unsteady? Thanks again, and Ho! Ho! Ho!

You're really overthinking this. I usually encourage people to DIY but if you're having this much trouble with lifting up the truck(which isn't needed) I can't imagine you'll have much luck replacing the starter. I'm not trying to be a jerk but some people just aren't mechanically inclined. If you're just looking for room to maneuver under the truck just buy some ramps and drive on.
For tips on replacing your starter search for "starter". And D2's and D1's use the same starter.
