Default Land Rover Service in Canada

I know a lot of Land Rover enthusiasts like to do there own maintenance but I don't have the skills nor the time. I also happen to own the most self service unfriendly vehicle in the universe, the 2005 LR3. Most of my problems are electrical and without a diagnostic computer, I would be up a creak even if I wanted to try stuff myself. My local LR dealers are terrible when it comes to service. I am located in Stratford, ON so I have tried Waterloo Land Rover (BK Motors) and London Land Rover, neither had a clue, both were really expensive and terrible to try and deal with. I have heard of NV Customs in Toronto and Westminster but there seem to be mixed reports even about those independents. I have a local garage that does the day to day stuff for me but they don't have access to the computer to do the more significant stuff. My parking brake just decided to look up tighter than a frog's butt and my local guys can't help. Land Rover Waterloo wants $3500 and they haven't even seen the car yet! I just want someone who is honest and reasonably priced (that doesn't mean the cheapest as I am more than happy to pay more for better work). I have to get the truck towed somewhere to get this fixed so I might as well get it towed to the best. Any ideas on Land Rover service anywhere from say Windsor to Barrie to Toronto (or even further if they are really good)?

Dan

The parking brake on the LR3 is electronic, from what I understand there is a actuator on the parking brake drum that goes bad.

The electronic nature of the parking brake is the problem. A straight forward mechanical linkage could be serviced by anyone. The LR3 electronics are a disaster. I need someone with the diagnostic equipment and techs familiar with the electronics to deal with the electronics/actuator.

If it were me, I would unplug it and remove the actuator and then just never have a parking brake, buts that just me.
Good luck and I wish I could give you real help.

Thought of that but apparently the LR3 computer simply will not let the car run without a parking brake. Apparently, it is the only car in North America with that "feature".

Man that sucks.
I wonder if you can trick the system?
