Default Mystery vacuum lines

I'm looking at the back of the engine trying to figure out how to unplug the upstream O2 sensor and discovered these two vacuum lines coming from around the transmission and ending at the top of the back of the engine. I have no clue as to where they go I don't see any fittings.
My disco is a 1997 with automatic transmission

Those are vent lines to the trans and transfer, don't cap them or look for anywhere to plug them in, they're supposed to look that way. The "shepherds hook" at the top works like a schnorkel.

X 2 capping them would not be good.
