My 96 LR does not have a stop light switch install at the moment. But I'm still able to shift out of park and drive normally. Is this normal? THANKS

So you have to brake lights either?
Sounds like someone ran a wire and bypassed the old switch, but if that were done, your brake lights should always be own.

NO, I dont have any brake lights. All my brake lights stopped working last week. So I removed the brake light switch to have it replace, still waiting for the parts to come. But somehow I'm still able to shift and drive the truck. Also, what exactly is a earth problem I've been hearing about all over the forum? I think it has something to do with why my brake lights are not working all of the sudden. I dont think a new brake light switch will solve my problem, But I got to give it a try first. Yes, I have checked the fuse, they are fine. If the switch doesnt fix the problem, I WILL BURN MY LR!!!..LOL . Love the truck, but they are so annoying and stressful.

I sounds like just the switch.
Earth problems(English) are grounds points (American).
Some times the grounds can get corroded and not make good contact.

Still sounds like a brake switch problem.
