Oil pump issues
Just wondering if the oil pump issues I've heard so much about in the pre '04 models, can be remedied by replacing the oil pump long before an issue is apparent.

Certainly. The oil pump kit (water pump gasket, front cover gasket, front seal, oil pump gears) is like $114 US from AB. But if you happen to have a model in the VIN range for mis-aligned dowel pin on front cover, that may be a little different.
