power steering pump trouble

Default power steering pump trouble

I can't seem to be able to bleed out all the air in my pump, it keeps squealing and foaming up

Please help!! 95 DiscoI

Are you using the correct (viscosity/grade) approved fluid? From experience, this usually makes a difference in various european pump designs.

You need to open the bleed screw on top of the PS box. Turning the wheel back and forth only makes it worse. If the fluid is already foamed, allow to sit overnight.

PS Bleed procedure; Top off reservoir with ATF. Remove cap and open the bleed screw (7/16" nipple) on top of the PS box. Wait until you see ATF fluid coming out. Tighten screw and start engine for a few seconds, then shut off. Top off fluid, open bleeder again until clear ATF comes out. Done. Repeat one or two times if necessary.

Use ATF, did you mix it with something else or re-fill W/O ATF?
