Can anyone tell me why even with a new battery in the fob will my disco 2003 not unlock , the internal alarm goes off if I just unlock using the key . Please help .

 

Try locking and unlocking the door, with the key, 3 times in a row and see if that resets your alarm.

 

Mike , I just tried that with no luck. The red light comes on when pressing the fob

 

Has this fob ever worked ?

I just got a fob for mine and of course it has to be programmed to the truck before it will work...

If fob has been known to work.. Then.

1. Bad new battery
2. Battery installed upside down.
3. Fob is actually bad or no longer programmed to the truck.
4. You messed up one of the buttons when you had it apart..

You might take it apart and pull the pcboard out of the shell and check the switches to make sure they are working correctly.. You should be able to hear them click...
