Default Radio/NAV Security Code - FL or Discovery 2003 ??

I have a 2003 Freelander that sat for 6 months and the battery died. When I charged it up again, the Radio/NAV is now asking for a security code.
I bought the car at an auction and it did not come with an owners manual, so I have no idea what the code is...(or if it is even with the manual)

I have called my local dealer and they tell me that they have talked with Land Rover and have been told that the radio/nav I have was a special order item for the Freelander (usually it is standard in the Discovery)..

Range Rover says they can not tell me what the code is.... Essentially, they installed a radio that is now a brick, and they cannot do anything about it.
(and I am perplexed)

Any idea how to unlock the radio?
It has number buttons 1-7 and needs a 5 digit code.

Thanks in advance.

The dealer should be able to tell you, after you provide proof of ownership.

and that is what I thought!... When I first called them they told me the code was "0000".
I explained that the required code is 5 numbers long and there is no "0" on the keypad.

But now they are telling me they don't know what the code is.... (go figure)

When I push the matter, I also get the "well your radio must have a hardware malfunction and needs to be replaced".... (I guess that is one way of solving the issue)

And really, If I wanted to boost a 03 Freelander's radio??

Come on.. this is absolutely unacceptable for Land Rover not to be able to support a factory installed component!!

If anyone has a higher point of contact than the service department of Land Rover Redwood City, I would love to escalate this!

When I had to call the dealer or my D2 many years ago they gave me the code then said this: "IF DOESNT WORK, TURN KEY TO POS 2, LEAVE FOR 1 HR, TURN OFF, TURN BACK TO POS 2"
Possibly you might have to do this to reset the radio to the code of 0000? You don't select digits with the numbers on the radio, you use the up and down arrows. My code has a 0 in it.
Good luck!

The dealer is giving you a load of BS. If you get the serial number off of the back of the satnav the dealer can get the radio/satnav code easily. The Becker satnav was fitted as standard to the top range D2's and similarly the same unit to the top range Freelader's. It's not rocket science for them to aquire the code.
